Kate Bowles is an Ilkley based book-binder and artist who uses recycled fabrics, leather, papers, and other vintage haberdashery ephemera, to create original hand-sewn notebooks and journals.
The books she designs are both functional and decorative. She has written: “I create books that are to be filled by other people, so the creative process continues when they leave me (that, for me, is probably the best bit).”
Kate’s work has featured in craft and art shows in the region, including the Ilkley Art Trail, ‘Crafted by Hand’, and ‘Just Makers’ exhibitions. She also writes a blog, with illustrations on her work, at Kate Bowles BlogSpot.
