Haworth artist, Bill Parker, has worked as a professional artist, art tutor, and art college lecturer for over 30 years, including teaching in London and Cape Town, South Africa.

He was awarded a BA in Fine Art (painting) from Wolverhampton University in 1975. Later he was awarded a Post Graduate Diploma in Photography, History and Culture from London Institute in 1994, and a Masters Degree (MA) in Printmaking from Bradford College, 2005.
His own work has been widely exhibited in the UK and overseas, including group shows at the Midland Arts Centre, Birmingham, The Castle Gallery, Capetown, and solo shows locally at the South Square Gallery, Bradford, the Bingley Gallery, and the Keighley Creative Gallery, where he currently has a studio.
Bill uses a range of materials, including inks, gouache, acrylics, oil paint and encaustic wax. He says:
As a part of my studio practice I meditate daily and also use a form of Japanese meditations called Enso: a traditional calligraphic practice with inks and brushes.
In relation to the image shown below from his ‘Meditations on the Moors’ exhibition at the Bingley Gallery in 2015, he wrote at that time:
These paintings are reflections on that experience and others since. They are not depictions of specific scenes or particular views, but expressions and transcriptions of the physical experience of being immersed in the elements.
