Andy Shaw is a Bradford based artist who uses reclaimed metal to make sculptures, often inspired by film characters, e.g. ‘The Terminator’.

He took up industrial art over 15 years ago as a hobby after qualifying as a mechanical engineer. He has exhibited work at the Millennium Galleries in Sheffield, the Rapture Gallery in Harrogate, Staithes Arts Festival, and the ‘1 in 4’ exhibition at the Salts Gallery, Saltaire.  In 2015 Andy completed a snake installation for the Beat-Herder festival in the Ribble Valley (see images below).

He has said of his work:

One of my earliest memories was going to a scrap yard with my dad when I was six. I saw the bits of cars on the floor and realised there had to be a second use for these items. The idea of reusing things resonates with me … As a society we need to open our eyes to recycling scrap and reusing, rather than wasting things.
