Jan Whittock lives at Oakworth. She trained as a teacher and taught art at local schools, including 16 years at Bradford Girl’s Grammar. Since her retirement she has concentrated on her own art work. Although trained in ceramics, she works in oils and watercolours and has recently learned etching.

Jan is a member of the Aire Valley Arts group of painters and has had work shown at a range of regional venues, including Central Hall, Keighley, Sunnybank Gallery, Pudsey , ‘Art on the Square’, Haworth, Cartwright Hall, Bingley Arts Centre, and The Bingley Gallery. In 2016 Jan’s work featured in the ‘Time to Stand and Stare’ exhibition at Cliffe Castle, Keighley.
