Graphic designer and illustrator, Ben Tallon, was born in Keighley. He gained a BTEC in Graphic Design from Keighley College and then a BA degree in Illustration from the University of Central Lancashire.
Ben is a mixed media freelance artist, using pens, inks, brushes, found materials and textures, acrylics, spray paint, pastels, wax and coloured pencils to layer together a complete image.
He is the creative director at Quenched Music and clients have included The Guardian, Manchester United Football Club, UEFA Champions League, The Big Issue (Nationwide), When Saturday Comes, Russell Brand (Articles of Faith), The Times Newspaper, and Haymarket Publishing.
In 2013 he made his film debut as art-director, actor, costume designer and set designer in The Lost Generation, a feature film directed by Mark Ashmore and filmed in Manchester.
In 2015 Ben won the ‘Creative Agency of the Year’ at the inaugural Dot London Small Business Awards, and he is represented by Illustration Limited; see Illustration.
Ben’s autobiography, ‘Champagne and Wax Crayons’ was published in 2015 by LID Publishing. It charts his progress from his early years onward and offers advice to aspiring artists on breaking into the creative industries.
