Graphic designer and illustrator, Carl Murgatroyd, was born 1964 in Bradford.

From 1980 to 1983  Carl studied graphic design at Bradford School of Art and after leaving college went to work for a design agency in Leeds. He then worked for a range of design companies at senior art director positions before becoming a freelance designer. He said of his career progression:

My love of illustration finally pushed me into the greeting card industry working for some of the country’s leading publishers as an in-house artistic and eventually creative director working on various product ranges, which gave me the opportunity to work on many styles and techniques.
