Jade studied Textile Crafts at Huddersfield University and graduated in 2010. For her degree show, she created hand embroidered pieces on Second World War themes, based on the personal memories and wartime experiences of those who lived in that period.
My current work is based on the local area and architecture of Saltaire village, but has previously been influenced by vintage recipes, childhood rhymes and transport.
Jade has exhibited her work with New Designers in London, where she received an Excellence in Textiles award from the bi-monthly fashion/textile magazine, Selvedge. Her work was later featured in Selvedge and Vogue, and as a window display at the Selvedge offices in London. She has also exhibited work across the region and elsewhere, including at the Bingley Gallery; South Square Gallery, Thornton; the 100% Handmade Fair, Ilkley; and respectively at the Saltaire, Ilkey and Headingley Arts Trails.
