Award-winning ceramicist, Anna Lambert, was born 1957 in London, but has lived in the Keighley area since the late 1980s and shares a studio, ‘Junction Worksop’, at Cross Hills with her painter husband, David Thomas. She makes slab-built earthenware ceramics with painted slips. Ideas reflect an interest in place, exploring narratives relating to changes in farmland and regeneration of orchards, combining drawing with the abstract qualities of pots.

Anna studied for her first degree at the Bath Academy of Art, graduating in 1980 with an honours degree in ceramics. She also completed a Masters degree in Ceramics from the University of Central Lancashire at Preston (2010-13).
She has taught ceramics part-time at Bradford & Ilkley Community College and the University of Derby and led residential and other workshops and pottery demonstrations with adults and young people.
Anna has exhibited her work widely across Britain, including solo exhibitions at the Scottish Gallery, Edinburgh, and at the Contemporary Ceramics Gallery, London, and in galleries in Europe and USA. Anna’s work and studio also features in the North Yorkshire Open Studios and she exhibits regularly at Ceramic Art London, Potfest in the Park and Oxford and York Ceramics Fairs
Awards for her work include from the Gloucestershire Guild of Craftsmen: President’s Prize in 1988; and a Certificate of Merit in the Fletcher Challenge Ceramics Award, 1990.
Anna’s ceramics can be found in public collections at Salisbury, Southampton, Middlesborough, Gateshead, Burnley, Stoke on Trent, and at Cliffe Castle, Keighley.
