Zareena Bano is a Bradford-based mixed-media artist and creative arts tutor, with experience of teaching a wide range of local people in community venues; for example, she led ‘Sufi Soul’ workshops as part of the Bradford Literature Festival in 2016, where people were inspired to paint whilst listening to music from East, Persia and Andalusia.
Zareena has been an artist since 2002 and her work is inspired by traditional South Asian and Arabic calligraphy designs, fused with modern and contemporary art styles. She also works with old or unused items giving them a new lease of life through her artwork. Her motto is ‘making a difference through art.’

Zareena has exhibited her work locally, including at Kala Sangam, Bradford; Central Hall, Keighley, and Hebden Bridge Town Hall. She also exhibited work at Cartwright Hall in 2016, as part of the ‘Garden Within A Garden’ exhibition, inspired by the history of Pakistan, and particularly the role of Sikh, Muslim and Hindu soldiers during World War One.
