Jacky Al-Samarraie is a graphic artist and founder/owner of The Art Rooms. Her studio is based at Lister’s Mill in Bradford, where she designs and produces a range of prints, cards, stationery, gifts and home-ware, including table mats and mugs, as shown below..

After a 20+ year career in social services, Jacky returned to college to study art. She started by studying Interior Decoration part-time at a foundation level then continued part-time at HNC level in Graphic Design, before advancing and graduating in 2003 from Bradford College with a first class honours degree in Graphic Media Communication.

In 2007 Jacky founded The Art Rooms then launched her business to trade buyers in July 2008. Her distinctive landscape designs are characterised by silhouettes of trees, people or Man-made features juxtaposed with blocks of colour. Her images originate from photographs taken and collected during her road trips around the British Isles.

Jacky uses her finished artwork across a varied product range which includes art prints, bone-china mugs, tableware, cushions, tea towels and greeting cards. Her products have been sold in many museum and gallery shops which include, Tate Modern, Tate Britain, The Courtauld Gallery, Design Museum, Southbank, The British Library plus John Lewis, The National Trust, House of Lords and many more both in the UK and overseas.

Jacky says of her work:
“For the next stage in my journey, I would like to develop my style and print range and spend time experimenting with new techniques and methods of printmaking. I’ve recently moved my studio to Lister’s Mill, so I’m looking forward to using my new space.”
