RAZA, Musarat  Photo Hamaracentre

Musarat Raza is a community artist, employed part-time by Bradford Museums and Galleries, but also works freelance for a wide range of organisation in West Yorkshire, and elsewhere.

Musarat studied for a BSc in Textile Design at the University of Huddersfield and graduated with 2.1 Honours in 2003.

Since graduating she has worked in schools and community venues, including Cartwright Hall, using multi-media to help others of all ages develop their creativity, including youth groups, and people with mental or physical health issues.  Her own specialist creative area is in textile, including embroidery, molar, applique, tie and dye, batik and silk painting.

She is also an Arts award advisor, trained in Bronze, Silver & Gold and has helped many young people to gain arts awards.  She is an artist member of the South Asian Arts Association; see their website at SAA
