Julia works with oils, acrylics and mixed media on canvas. She has written that her:

…preoccupation is colour, inspiration is location- and surfaces intrigue.  Locations are explored through vigorous and perceptive analyses, via drawing, colour research, and experiments with composition and texture – with results often formalised, to further an infinite variety of creative outcomes. [My] most recent work explores layering of the organic shapes, light effects and textures discovered in landscape.
